clay roof tiles

Post by dpbruce » Tue Aug 03, 2010 12:23 pm

The surface of my clay roof tiles are flaking off because of moss the roots of which seem to be able to penetrate the clay tiles unlike the adjacent conrete tiles. Will this allow water to penetrate the clay tile and hence the roofspace??

dpbruce,
Provided the flaking is not deep it should not cause a problem.

Just keep an eye on them and when they start to flake, split or crumble, buy some secondhand ones and replace them as required.
