cold or hot chemical dipping for painted doors

WHICH METHOD IS BEST TO STRIP PAINT OFF WOODEN DOORS. I HEARD THAT HOT CHEMICAL DIPPING CAN DAMAGE DOORS AND BLOW THE JOINTS. CAN ANYONE OFFER ADVICE.[list=][/list]
