Cold Water Ferham 50 Gal Expansion Tank Split

by reptile1 » Sat Sep 30, 2017 1:27 pm

Hey everybody,
I have a leaking loft poly tank Ferham 50 Gal split at corners of reinforced sides.
the base is small 1200 mm long OSB raised up on platform. Small attic access 620mm x520mm.
Looking at replacing existing tank with new coffin tank and to support it on a new base 25mm marine ply inserted over existing board extending beyond support (old base OSB ) by 250mm as new tank is 1450mm long
height of new tank will be less than current tank by approx 100mm
all pipework on existing tank is on one end.
Will support base be ok for new longer tank as no platform to build on?
Will existing pipework copper pipes need to be adjusted to fit new tank or can i just flex/bend a little to fit new access holes in new tank?
Is it ok to still attach all pipework to one side of tank (circulation wise)? We do have 2 power showers to operate off it so movement of water may not be a problem.
Thanks rep
