Since my system was installed 5 years ago it constantly makes a "clicking" noise in the pipes which can be heard throughout the house !! Any suggestions please and if corrected I will buy you a night on the beer!!!!
Its prolly expansion/contraction of the pipes as they warm/cool.
Solution is to expose as much of the pipework as poss. Ensure it is adequatly clipped and not rubbing on anything.
You can lag the pipes too - old carpet pieces or proper lagging - it will deaden the sound.
Only other way is to change pipe for plastic.
If its the pipes tickinmg or clicking that suggests that the joists were not notched enough and the pipes are binding o them. When the system starts up the pipes expand. Because they are tight on the joists they stick a lttle bit and you get the ticking/clicking noise as they get hotter. The reverse occurs as they cool down. Solution - increase size of notches concerned or wrap the pipes.
