Concealed cistern straight swap with plastic one?

Post by Darran55 » Fri Jun 26, 2020 10:35 am

Hi all .
I'm an avid DIY person . Quite competent . My question is . I want to change a plastic cistern on a toilet and was wondering if a concealed cistern would be a straight swap. Thanks in advance

Hi Darran,

Which brand is the manufacturer? Grohe? Geberit? Althou most brands work with similar systems..

If you wish to replace the concealed system then you will need to uncover it which means breaking the tiles and the drywall construction in most cases. Unless you have some other way of accessing the system behind the wall you will have to break the covering and repair it after.
