cooker switch

by ian00uk » Tue Aug 02, 2011 10:14 pm

hi

cooker switch needs to be moved as having built in oven and hob but the 6mm cable is about 6 inches too short to reach the switch. it will only be supplying the oven so could you join 6mm cable with 60amp junction box or crimp the joints to extend the cable. Access cant be done from above

many thanks

Ideally the joints need to be easily accessible, so if it not rule the junction box idea out.
Does the cable come from beneath the units or from above?
If the cable comes from beneath, you could install a junction box under the cabinet behind the kicker/plinths then extend the cable the extra distance upwards.
