Cracked and Raised Concrete Patio Caused by Freeze Thaw Action

Postby 4rthur » Tue Apr 12, 2016 2:46 pm

Hello

I am looking to repair a concrete patio.

We have several cracks one of which has one side that is raised around 5cm and there are also several holes. I think that maybe water gets underneath and the problems compound when it freezes..

I believe that I can use concrete but not sure if trying to repair the raised area in this way is a good idea, or if crack repair will be very temporary as the repairs themselves will crack as the patio continues to move.

Maybe the whole patio can be re surfaced? But if the foundation is bad this is feeling like a bad solution!

honestly, its best to remove the lot, than repair, You can then redesign the patio, either re concrete, or tarmac or paving slabs with chippings
