Cracking in floor joist. When to worry?

Postby Lsihaw » Sat Jun 24, 2023 12:14 am

Hi,

I've recently moved into a 1960s house. When we lifted the floorboards we noticed some cracking on the joists. One looked pretty bad and the most others had hairline cracks where the wiring has been ran through them. Is this something I need to worry about, or is it normal?

Thanks.

Hi lsihaw,
The cracks along the joists are perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.
