I’ve recently moved into a Victorian property and have begun decorating.
In one of the bedrooms I have noticed there are straight line cracks on the ceiling. They are straight lines and have created a cross hair from the middle point.
Is this something to be concerned about? If so, what would be the best way to fix it.
I’ve tried attached an image but the file is too big. By the look of the ceiling it has a bobbly pattern, artex?
Hi jwm Lathe and plaster ceilings tend to craze and crack randomly. It sounds like your ceiling has been redo by either replacement or over boarding with plasterboard hence the straight line cracks. Short of redoing the ceiling again you will have to accept cracks. Regards S
Hi jwm That is different question! If you can push the ceiling up and down - use a broom - then it may fall down. If there is no movement even if you push hard then it is unlikely to fall. Regards S
