cutting door

by tonyor » Wed Sep 16, 2009 6:42 pm

I am going to be hanging a new back door into an existing frame. The original door is 762mm wide but only 1940mm height. My question is is it ok to buy a solid 762 by 1981 and cut 20mm off top and the bottom for it to fit,or would effect the strength of the door.
thanks t

I don't see why not, but it depends on the construction of the door. Examine it closely to see exactly what will be shaved off.
