I have removed an old carpet in my upstairs bedroom and I've noticed that an area of the underlay near the bay window feels damp to the touch. The floorboards underneath are bone dry and although the moist patch is near a window there are no signs of penetrating damp on the wallpaper or skirting boards. I noticed this a week ago and the moist patch hasn't changed in size or shape. Does anyone have any suggestions about a possible cause? Thanks.
