I am currently doing up my house and have plastered walls ceilings, etc with no problem at all.
Been on a course with Able Skills and the results have been impressive up until today.
I thought I would skim the ceiling without overboarding.
I PVA'd the ceiling and proceeded to plaster as usual but it was impossible to get a flat finish, if you like the rustic look then this ceilings your man.
Has anyone got any idea why this has happened?
So far the results have been fine, so much so as people want me to go and do some bits in their house.
Any tips on why or how to repair would be greatly appreciated
Well, overboarding poor and decaying plaster has always been the best method. I assume that you thought this ceiling to be of a reasonable condition and a re-skim would do the job. I'd think of putting another coat on top may be two 3mm skims, would do the job>
