DIY Regs

by Devallon » Sat Feb 09, 2008 6:12 pm

Can anyone recommend a good manual that helps a competent DIYer to install lights and power to meet current standards ? Whilst I accept the need to have a qualified sparks connect up to a mains unit, I am capable of laying the cables and siting the sockets switches etc. Thanks

See our project on Part P of the building regulations which will tell you what you can and cannot do. There are no seperate regulations for DIY installations, all electrical work comes under the building regulations outlined in the project.

At the moment we are between two books as new regulations have been released but when released the Guide to 17th Edition would likely be a good start.
