Do I Need Neighbour Permission to Extend Drive Way?

by Tazul » Tue Apr 15, 2014 7:46 am

Hello

I was hoping someone out there can help me with my question.

I wanted to move my fence on my driveway closer to my property boundary. To cut the story short

- The fence was put up by the previous owners. I have taken the fence down to move it closer to my property boundary as i need more space now as we have 2 cars in the family. After i have taken the fence off and marked the floor and was about to put the fence up close to my property boundary my neighbour went off one saying i cant do that because he thinks its a shared entrance. If i did put it up, he will report me to the local council. I have checked the land registry and this does not seem to show that its a shared entrance. To be awkward now every times he parks on his driveway he parks more towards the right where i have marked floor to put the fence up.

I have uploaded a picture of my drive way and also the land registry. Please click on the link below

Any advise will be appreciated

Thanks

the difference in pebbledash denotes the boundry line between the 2 properties, so if you set your fence line at a 90 degree angle to your house it should be correct. BUT you need to check with the local planning officer for all matters relating to a boundry dispute
