Do 'wood hardening solutions' work on softwood?

Post by rabbit » Fri Oct 30, 2009 7:56 pm

Hello, I have a stable door leading from kitchen into the garden. The door itself seems fine but the frame is softwood!

If I used some sort of penetrating solution to harden the frame?

Do these type of solutions work or should I replace the frame?

thank you.

You haven't said what is wrong with the door frame!!

Anyway, the answer is yes because wood hardeners penetrate the soft rotten wood then set rock hard.

Cheers
