Our AGA is very expensive and wasteful. We want an alternative way of heating hot water
We will have to use an immersion heater. Is it possible to link 2 hot water tanks in series? We would use one when there is just the 2 of us in the house and both when there is a house full. The second tank would feed the first
a 950 x 450 direct hot water cylinder should be fine for you, obviously you're going to need a cold water storage tank to feed it and then the necessary pipework as well. These are around £200 - £250.
If you want mains pressure hot water then you're going to need something like the Stelflow Unvented Direct Cylinder which has a 210 litre capacity. These retail around the £550 mark.
Thanks for the reply. We let our own house as a holiday let. Normally there is just the 2 of us but when let it can be up to 12. The idea of two tanks in series is that we normally just heat the primary tank but heat both when the house is full
We dont want to install an oil fired boiler and we dont have gas in our village. The house is thatched so we cant use solar. So we think we are stuck heating the water by electricity
