Door hinges in exterior door pins coming out

Post by ole.st » Sun Jun 20, 2021 7:54 pm

Hi,

the pins in the door hinges of our exterior door are coming out.

The door was fitting about 4 years ago and moves effortlessly but I am a bit concerned about security, is this a sign that some tried to break in? (see attached picture)

Can I just push the pins back in by tapping them with a hammer? This is what I would do with a normal interior door but this one is exterior, facing our garden.

Cheers, Ole

Hi ole.st
It will be better to use a G-clamp to push the pin back in place, hammering may break the bottom hinge arm.
