How can I sort out a latch on a door The door keeps swinging open and the latch is not long enough to reach the keep plate. It is an internal very light door.

Hi,sounds like too much has been planed off the door at some stage,loosen the screws in the hinges and put a piece of cardboard from a cerial box or similar between the hinges and the frame.this will move the latch closer to the keep.the keep can also be packed out if its been set back into the frame too much.
