I drained my heating system and installed a new radiator in my bathroom and since doing so I have no hot water. There is water coming from the tap, however it is cold.
I have a gravity fed system, cold water tank in loft, hot water cylinder tank in bathroom and gas boiler in utility room.
From google I understand that there is maybe air trapped in the system somewhere. Would this be in the rads or in the tank it self?
I should add the heating is fully functional and rads are hot.
Would love some advice and a how to guide to solving the problem.
Hi Uselessdiyer, Your boiler will have a flow and return to the hot water cylinder - the connections usually go into the cylinder about 1/4 and 1/2 way up. There should also be a vent pipe in the top connection/pipe going up into the cold water tank. With the hot water being called for feel the flow and return pipes and they should be hot - if not it may be that the vent pipe is blocked - unblock it. If there is no vent pipe you will have to slacken the highest joint in the system to allow air out. Regards, stoneyboy
