drains

by lee1234 » Sat Aug 27, 2011 10:38 am

Hi,

Im planning to build an extension on the side of my house running round the back. the only problem is the drainage for my house and the next 3 houses runs down the middle of where i want the extension and in the middle of where the back will be. there is a manhole on the corner (i think for rodding) how will i get round this as i dont want a manhole cover inside my extension, i am going to have to put drainage in for the extension which will have to be extended further towards the back of the garden i think

Thanks

to save any problems under the extension you can renew it with a plastic pipe and you can install a new manhole just outside the building perimiter.
If its not possible to do this and you have to install a manhole inside the extension it will be an airtight screwdown cover.Have a word with the architect when he draws the plans he will advise you better.
