Hello all. Keen to drill into a concrete wall in our ground floor kitchen to install a rack to hold my bicycle. It's the wall between our property and the house next door.
We live in a Victorian terrace house, in the South West of England.
We've already had an issue with lead paint on our stairs. My pregnant partner is worried drilling holes could unleash a torrent of asbestos (!)
Before I go about drilling us to our doom, can anyone advise as to where I can learn more about the risks here (if any), so I can make an informed decision?
Hi mrsloth, It is very unlikely that you will release anything into your home environment by drilling holes for screws/bolts. It's very likely that the wall will be damp so dust will not be an issue. If you have a vacuum cleaner which uses bags you could always suck the debris as you drill and then dispose of the bag. Regards S
