Dual Trap Under Sink for new Dishwasher Install

by jimb0b2018 » Wed Apr 25, 2018 6:46 pm

Hi guys,

Probably quite a newbie question, hoping someone can help as I've been googling and trawling through the usual plumbing sites looking for an answer!

I'm looking at getting a dishwasher fitted and was hoping to save on the plumbing cost by sorting the inlet and waste myself. I've figured I can already sort the inlet by splitting the current washing machine inlet with a Y-splitter(?) however I am a little stumped at how to achieve the waste.

I have a one and a half sink and as you can see from the photos the washing machine waste nozzle is to the right. If my understanding is correct, the dishwasher waste nozzle must be before the trap. There is only a short horizontal piece of pipe here that I can play with - is there any product that can help me attach a waste nozzle here? Or am I missing something obvious that I should be doing? (apart from calling in a professional of course - I'm hoping it's an easy/cheap job!!).

Many thanks in advance for any advice you can give :-)
