Post by big bob » Tue May 15, 2007 7:18 pm

i currently have night storage heaters which run on economy 7 which i find expensive to run and they are cold by the evening.i have been looking at installing a oil condensing combi boiler.can anyone advise me if this is a wise move or shall i go for a ordinary oil boiler and roughly how much will the running costs be.many thanks

Always go for a condensing boiler if you can - they'll save more in the long run. Can't give you any idea of running costs as you don't state house size/type/build etc. If you want to save money in the long run, had you considered a ground source heat pump? Runs at roughly 400% efficency, whereas the best you'll get out of a condenser is 95% ish.
