Electric qualcast meb1640m lawn mower blade removal?

Hi all,

I'm trying to undo the nut, but the motor spins with the nut (anticlockwise). It took a bit of force to get it moving/loosen initially.

Am I missing something? There doesn't seem to be any way to lock the spinning of the motor.
