Electrical Socket @ Consumer Unit

by jave22 » Mon Jun 16, 2008 7:33 am

Hi,

I am looking to fit an electrical socket at a position right next to the consumer unit. Can anyone advise of any potential problems with this? Can I just take make a connection direct to the unit or better to break into the ring and take a spur?

Regards

Appendix 15 page 362 BS 7671:2008 An unfused spur may be connected to the origin of the circuit in the distribution board.
I think that answers your question if not please ask again.

All best Eric
