Enlarging a Fitted Wardrobe

by DWaterston » Wed Jan 16, 2008 10:25 am

We are planning to enlarge a fitted Wardrobe to accomodate new Wardrobes.

The height of which are 2.1m which means that we will have to enlarge the current "Doorway" to put them into place.

1) Is there a problem with removing the current wooden doorframe and removing what ever is above to increase the height?

2)What happens if there is brickwork, can I safely remove a layer of brick?

3) Will I need to put back a wooden frame or lintle or should there be sufficient support without it?

Any help and assistance is greatly appreciated.
