Please can you advise on the following; We are having an extension built and my builder has put red bricks in between our new joists at the back of the guttering board/bottom of the roof (see picture) Is this correct and what is the purpose please?
Hi May2020 The outer wall needs bringing up to support the cavity wall insulation which will the meet the rafter insulation which will be fitted between the rafters. The bricks will stabilise the rafter ends and it's much easier to use bricks than it is to make multiple cuts in blocks. Regards S
