Extractor fan position in bathroom

by diynewbie » Sun Apr 13, 2008 4:30 pm

I have a condensation/mould issue in my bathroom despite the fact that there is a window which I mostly leave open.

An extractor can't be installed in the top 40cm of the exterior wall as it's a concrete supporting beam at that point.

Would an extractor still be effective if installed at shower height, to the side of the shower (1m from shower, 2m from floor, 50cm from celing).

would you recommend installing it there or in a window right next to the shower, (1.25m from ceiling & floor)?

thanks

if its any help, i put mine into the ceiling, ducted across the loft space and exit through the soffit, this has worked fine for past 7 years, you could buy the whole kit from B+Q then for about £30
