Fan in en suite

by russellfl » Sun Aug 30, 2009 12:31 pm

Hi can anyone advise?
I am changing the shower doors and re tiling my en-suite. There is a ceiling fan in the en suite but it is about two metres away from the shower area. Does this need moving into the ceiling above the shower or is it acceptable to leave it where it is, which is by a window? If it needs moving I want to do the preparitary work myself to keep costs down ie. extending the outlet flue and cutting out the ceiling, is that allowed under part P or does an electrician have to do it?

Cheers

If you move it becomes notifiable. I don't see why you should need to move it, If it was moved closer could well be entering zones where only certain types of equipment are allowed.
If it's working and doing it's job, leave it. If not call an electrician.
