Filling in large holes in brickwork

by scroogemonster » Wed Dec 02, 2009 9:40 am

Hi there, I have just noticed a very small damp patch on the floor just inside a set of upvc French doors. On looking outside I noticed the upvc trim bead has come away from the external reveal and water has ingressed inside. I also noticed when pulling the trim further away very large gaps ( 2-3 inches in places) between the window frame and the brick wall where the brick has been chiselled away to fit the windows by the installers.

Can you tell me what the best way to fill these holes is? Should I fill them with sand and cement or use expanding foam?
Thanks for your time and consideration

Foam is the best solution.
