The tap in my kitchen is 15 years old and needs a new cartridge. Unfortunately Blanco don't seem to stock cartridges for older taps (brilliant!). They said all taps apparently have different cartridges so I can't just use an alternative (insane!). Do all tap supplies do this? Is there anything I can do?
Replacing the tap is a major operation as the plumbing in that area is quite complex and requires various cabinets to be taken apart etc.
I'm told the tap is a Blanco Lido BM1040. Not sure if that helps.
Hi mbk You need to remove the cartridge and see if you can find a replacement on line. Your search will bring up a number of suppliers who sell a range of different cartridges - make sure you measure careful. Regards S

The problem is to remove the cartridge I need to turn the water off for the house. I can see the wife allowing me to just change the cartridge but not to have the water off for days while I wait for a new cartridge :)
Is it still possible to buy mixer taps that just use tap washers? these cartridges seem to be a bit counter productive (and costly).
