Fire Regulations For Exposed Timber Joists In Ceiling

by Pelena » Sun Oct 20, 2013 10:43 am

Hi- we are refurbishing a flat and want to put insulation and plaster board between the ceiling joists in the lower ground floor of a victorian property as it makes a massive difference to ceiling height. Any ideas on what to use to meet fire regs, as we'd have exposed timber? Would a product such as nullifire work? Thanks!

It depends on how much of the timber is exposed and how deep the joists are. Rockwool between the joists will protect the sides. Also how high is are the flats. If you just need 30mins of protection you probably won't need any additional protection.
