Fitting new programmable thermostat

by stevenh78 » Thu Nov 18, 2010 9:31 am

Hi, I have an Ideal Logic combi boiler with a mechanical timer and a separate 2 wire RAA20 thermostat in the hall.
I would like to replace the thermostat with something like the Salus RT500 but not sure how to do this since I have no live feed and neutral feed?
Are there any programmable thermostats for volt free applications that do not require a live feed? The thermostat location is actually relatively near a light switch, so should i just take the feed from there?
Thanks

Steven

Yes. In fact, I think nearly all modern programmable thermostats are volt free and run off AA batteries.
