Fixing 50" TV to Plasterboard Wall Safely

by manno_88 » Mon Jan 29, 2018 11:07 am

Hi there,

I want to fix my TV to a plasterboard wall and I'm getting mixed messages about it. My last 2 houses have been solid walls, however my newbulld is all plasterboard.

Some people have said I need to attach to the studs behind, and some are saying with the correct "toggles" that doesn't have to happen.

The issue with the studs is they are off centre and just wouldn't work where I need the TV to go, so any recommendations or experience of fixing direct to a drywall?

I have purchased the Gripit Blue which were recommended to me and they state they take loads of up to 225kg and are designed for wall mounted TV's - would this be safe enough?

Any info would be gratefully received.

Cheers.

225 KG...!
That's 35 stone. If you can lift the TV you'll be more than covered.
One would do it although I wouldn't recommend that. It'll be fine even if its on a movable bracket unless you're hanging a LED video wall
Go for it
