Fixing an LCD TV to a Dry Lining Wall

by petemoon » Sun Aug 05, 2007 9:22 pm

I am trying to fix my 37" TV to an external wall which I believe has dry lining in it and I cannot therefore use the brick rawplugs supplied with it. The TV weights 30kg and I have been told if I use the heavy duty plasterboard plugs this will hold it.

Can you offer any advice with this.

Thanks Pete.

Hi

I'm not sure just fixing to the plasterbaord along is sufficient.

Ideally t would be better to put a noggin in the wall, but this would mean cutting a large hole in the plasterboard and making good afterwards.

If you don't want to do that, then at least try to locate one of the screws in a stud.

Hope this help.
