foundation for block wall faced with stone

i am hoping to build a wall using concrete blocks on their side and then face one side of wall with stone.The width of wall when faced will be 300mm.The height of the wall will be 1200mm.How do i work out dimensions for the foundation.

You need 100mm minimum each side of the wall Stoney so the minimum width is 500mm. Depending on what this wall is for will depend whether it needs building regulation approval or not but if its a garden wall then we suggest you read the foundations project on the website. If ground conditions are good then a treanch 1 meter deep (to ensure getting down to solid ground) is acceptable and the width, usually 600mm. The minimum depth of your concrete should be 150mm but we would suggest a 225mm fill for a 300mm thick wall.
