Foundations for a garden shed

by hjosen » Tue Jul 01, 2008 11:14 am

Hi all,

I need some help, as I want to do my garden shed foundations. It will be a large area 20ft by 10ft and I need this raised by 3inches.
As you can image this can be quite expensive to do with concrete, I wanted to know if there were other cheaper options available.

A friend suggested that I use gravel for the footings and gain the height I need from this, following by a wet mix of cement, on top. I’m not to sure about this hence asking the question,

Thanks in advance for all your help

The answer to this, and all shed base or foundations problems can be found in our projects section. www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects.htm in particular the projects about building a shed base .
