Freezer tripping out

Postby Invader75 » Sun Sep 20, 2020 1:38 pm

A friend gave me a working Beko tall freezer. It was working when we went to collect. They plugged it in to prove this. All defrosted and cleaned etc.

When I plug it in it trips out our system. I've got it plugged into an extension cable. I've check the plug both ends. Put in. new 13amp fuses both on the extension cable and freezer. Checked the wiring. Still trips.

Swapped extension leads and plugged into a different plug socket and it still trips out.

Tried a small lamp on the original extension and that works no problem.

Does anyone know what the issue is? I'd like to try and fix it rather than put it in landfill.

Hi invader75
Can only suggest that if you can get at the works that you give it all a good clean - remove any dust or cobwebs which may be giving an earth leakage fault.
