Fungus growth on outside steps

Hello chaps, I've got some fungus growing from my outdoor steps, could someone have a look at the photos and tell me what it is and whether I can treat it or need to replace them?

Suggest you clean off the fungus, check the wood is sound and if ok use one of the spirit based 5* wood treatments once the wood is dry.
