Fused Spur Socket

by striker » Tue Sep 02, 2008 10:31 pm

Hi, I have a fused spur to a single socket in my utility room. What I would like to do is to try and change this to a double socket. Both the appliances i want to connect to this new double socket (Fridge & Tumble Dryer) are 13a, Is this possible? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

You need to check the ratting of tumble dryer. The fridge is not likely to be too much but with tumble dryers running for extended time may be both together could cause a problem but unlikely you can run 3000W of a switched spur and it can exceed this for short time but not too long many tumble dryers are 2000W so would be OK but not all.
