hello, i hope to build a cupboard to enclose my gas meter which is located inside my house and also box in the gas pipe which runs from the meter to the ceiling. are there any rules or regulations concerning the proximity of timber and fixings, etc that i need to know before i start.

Hi Jan,
it's ok to box in your pipework as long as there is no jionts on the pipework and that the boxing can be removed as a safety aspect for leaks, but i WOULDN'T box in your meter as you will need to get to it in an emergancy to isolate it and also to read the meter (the meter needs to be accessable at all times!!

hope this helps Mark
