Glass Block for External Wall advice Needed

Post by Colink » Sun Oct 21, 2018 12:15 am

Planning to install glass block in a 9" solid wall. New cut out.

4 wide, 8 high

Preference is to make blocks flush with outer brick. Any issues with this?

Planning using suitable mortar and steel rods.

Any deed to cut a rebate in brickwork or can I
make cut out same W & H through full 9"?

Recommendations where to put a DPC, if required?

If blocks will be flush with brickwork (replacing the cut out brick) is there any need for a sill? (Will be adding a concrete head above the blocks).

Any other important things to consider?

Thanks ColinK
