My boiler has started making bubbling or jingling noise in the pipes. This only happens when hot water is being called for. Central heating is fine. The boiler is below a bedroom and it sounds 10 times worse upstairs. Obviously air in there somewhere. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks Phil
It sounds more like 'kettling'. when there is limescale buildup in the boiler. Are you in a hard water area ?Have you tried lowering the water temperature ?
Thanks for your reply Hot water is set to come on at 6am. That’s when it’s worst when there no heat in the system at all. Would it be worth draining system and refill??????
The scale will be in the domestic water side of the heat exchanger, (heating and water are separated) draining and refilling will have no effect. The heat exchanger needs removing and filling with descaler, flushing and refitting.
