Grinding Porcelain Tile Lippage to Lay Floating Engineered Wood Flooring

by PhoebeS » Mon Jul 10, 2017 11:31 am

I have porcelain large format tiles which were poorly laid and have lippage in a few places worst is around 6mm. I know the best option would be to rip the floor out completely but we don't have the time or money for that. So instead thinking we could lay engineered wood on top. My question is what to use to grind down the lippage on the tile?
And with a good thick underlay would some small uneven patches say 2/3mm be ok or does it need to be completely totally flat before laying the wood?
Thanks so much for any help!
