Guttering downpipe with rodding access?

Post by Brian Hardy » Tue Aug 07, 2007 1:11 am

My downpipe is standard plastic square section, about 62 mm
Last year I went 'environmental' and fitted a water butt. Now, the downpipe is blocked at the diverter. Removing the downpipe to clear the blockage isn't going to be easy (its very tight) and I suspect this is going to be an annual event, so I want to make it easy to clear next time. Is it possible to buy a fitting to add rodding access to a 62 mm downpipe? I've seen shower trays with rodding access and I managed to find a commercial (110 mm) gutter system with rodding access built into a bend, but none for 62 mm square.

I'll find a way to add one myself if necessary but any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thank you

P.s. I hope this is in the correct forum; I wasn't sure whether guttering was under roofing or plumbing.
