Heavy Ceiling lamp!!

by art1hur » Sun Oct 28, 2007 10:16 pm

The heavy ceiling lamp in question weighs about 9 kilos & is intended to replace existing light attached via ceiling rose. I think I need a junction box & possibly some kind of support brace but we live in flat & access from above is not poss. I have rewired ceiling lights before so I'm not complete diddy (almost). I'd appreciate any help> Yes I have tried to get pros (months now - none turn up, not interested. Too small a job?)
thanks!

Hi only safe way is to cut slot out of plasterboard, fit 'noggin' between joists, tack board back to noggin, make good cuts, fit light, think what a good job of making-good you did!!!BW, SPARX
