Help and Advice Needed With Victorian Iron Lattice Window Locks

by alexpb22 » Mon Apr 16, 2018 10:40 pm

Hi all

I'm desperately trying to find out how I can provide some window security to a house I've moved into that has Victorian Cast iron lattice windows with no locks. All they have are latch fasteners and my insurance really requires lockable windows.
I've literally spent hours looking into this and can't find an answer.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it. FYI the windows seem to have been fastened in the past (over 100 years ago) by putting a screw into that hole in the second picture but that really isn't any good for today as it just sits there and can easily be removed.

Thanks for any help
