Help Identifying Possible Artex in Bedroom and Bathroom in New Property

by Snailboy » Thu Mar 17, 2016 8:49 pm

So I've recently moved and one of my bedrooms and the bathroom have what appears to be artex to walls and ceiling. I've been doing my research on the subject and if it is artex I plan to find out the asbestos content (or hopefully not) before deciding how to proceed.

The thing is I'm not entirely convinced it is Artex. There are no lines to suggest that its wall paper but its not that thick or hard. I've taken a scraper to it and it comes away from the wall relatively easily and seems to have a paper underlay or is put on top of paper.

Have a look at these photos and let me know what you think

not sure what the 2nd photo is but the first isn't artex, it's woodchip wallpaper popular in the 70/80's definetly not asbestos containingg material.
