Help

Please can you help?? I'm fitting a new light fitting in the bathroom, they are spot lights with connections to live neutral and earth but there are 3 sets of wires coming out the ceiling, all look the same, I've put it back the way it came off the old one but it stays on and I'm unable to turn off by the pull switch??

Any ideas anybody?

Thanks

There are normally four sets of wires. Switch, Line, Neutral, Earth not three as you list. The Line does not connect to the light directly but through the switch. The Line to the lamp is often same colour as Neutral with some sleeving the same colour as the Line and is referred to as the Switch wire.
