Hinge Cut-Outs in Aluminium Framed Cabinet Doors

by Rachael1980 » Wed Dec 18, 2013 1:27 pm

Hi

I have some replacement cabinet doors for my kitchen. I thought with them being aluminium framed the hinge cutouts would already be in place but apparently not. My question is how easy it is to drill a hinge cut out into an aluminium frame and can I use a hinge cutter tool attached to drill as with timber doors or does it need to be a special tool to cut through the aluminium frame?

Thanks

Rachael

the bit you need is called a forstner bit, for concealed hinges, yes you can use it in a drill
